Repointing involves scraping out old, cracked, decaying mortar between the bricks and replacing it with new mortar. Tuckpointing goes a step further: after repointing with a mortar color-matched to the brick, we apply a fine, sharp, raised contrast line (usually white or black) precisely along the center of the joints.
